MISSION STATEMENT and ANIMAL WELFARE POLICY
Foundation for Feline Renal Research, Ltd. is dedicated to raising awareness of Feline Chronic Kidney Disease, and to providing grants for the very best Feline CKD research being performed by licensed research veterinarians who are standouts in the field. We screen potential funding recipients with great care, and pledge that we will not provide funding for any research that harms or exploits animals. Any blood and urine samples utilized in studies that we fund are routine samples obtained from companion cats during the course of their regularly scheduled veterinary visits. The samples, after being used for the cats' own diagnostic purposes, are then preserved for use in research studies, with the consent of the cats' human family members.
